We’re firm believers in the power of open source. By being open, we’re able to share with the world - and sharing is one of Rocket.Chat’s core values. As a part of our open-source commitment and our mission to empower our community, Rocket.Chat is proud to launch our very own University program!

Rocket.Chat University was born with the purpose of enriching our developers, community members, and customers with courses and certifications that help them perfect their skills and knowledge base with us. Learn more about what you can achieve with us:

A place to learn, get certified and grow with Rocket.Chat

Rocket.Chat University is an open e-learning platform where customers and community members (or anyone that’s interested!) can learn more about our product and its features.

Rocket.Chat has always had the mission to support its community, and the University is one of its core initiatives to engage with them and help with their development. Our long-term goal is for Rocket.Chat University to be a one-stop shop for all things Rocket.Chat: educational content in both written and visual form, setup walk-throughs, tips and tricks, quizzes, and certifications.

Our courses and certifications

From getting started guides (for those who are just starting their journey in open source and software engineering) to feature-specific training and technical certifications: our goal is to cover all things Rocket.Chat and open source in our University. But hey, Rome wasn’t built in a day!

We’ll launch the University with one comprehensive course and add more as we go. It is: 

Team Collaboration 101

An introductory course on how teams can use Rocket.Chat. From team collaboration and remote work to security features and integrations, get ready to become an expert in using Rocket.Chat.

How to get started

Getting started is pretty easy: all of our courses are free of cost and everyone is welcome to join!

First, you need to sign up for Rocket.Chat University using your email or a social media account. Then all you have to do is choose which one of the available courses you want to enroll in.

Your profile will keep track of progress, so there’s no need to take the classes all at once: you can go back and finish each course whenever you want, or even retake courses if you’d like to brush up on a certain topic.

All courses will contain theoretical and practical exercises. Once you complete one, you’ll get an exclusive badge that can be displayed on your LinkedIn profile or email signature!
